A nice ham steak, seasoned well, can be a solid main to your meal! Ham steak is quick to cook, easy to eat, and delicious throughout. Direct heat helps the piece of meat crisp up and brown, bringing out those sweet caramelized flavors. This ham steak is lightly seasoned, then grilled hot and fast: Only a couple minutes per side are necessary to heat and brown the steak. Then, it's flipped and slathered with a sweet-and-savory cherry honey mustard glaze. It’s flipped again to allow that sweet sauce to brown and melt into the ham steak.

While honey ham is a classic for the holidays, a large ham can seem overwhelming. You can easily throw two or three of these ham steaks on the grill to cook quickly and satisfy the craving. This cherry honey mustard ham steak still has those classic honey mustard flavors with an addition of sweet and tart cherry. Butcher BBQ’s Wild Cherry Rub fits right in among sweet honey, brown sugar, and dijon mustard.

Ingredients
1 lb ham steak, ready-to-eat
tsp avocado oil
Salt and pepper
Ingredients for cherry honey mustard glaze
⅓ cup honey
1 tbsp dijon mustard
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp Wild Cherry Rub

Directions
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, approximately 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
Meanwhile, add ingredients for glaze to a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring often, until the brown sugar is melted and the sauce has slightly reduced.
Prepare the ham steak: Pat dry on both sides, then drizzle avocado oil on both sides and rub the oil all over. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.
Place seasoned ham steak on a preheated grill. Grill for about two minutes or until ham steak begins to brown, then flip.
Use a basting brush to brush the glaze over the ham steak. Grill for another two minutes, then flip and baste again with more glaze. Remove from heat.
Serve ham steak immediately with more cherry honey mustard glaze on top.
