Baked then glazed with sweet apple flavor, these pork meatballs are juicy and satisfying. It’s easy enough as mixing together a batch of basic pork meatballs and then throwing them in with some of Butcher BBQ’s Apple Orchard BBQ Sauce. Apple puree in the sauce brings forward that sweet, fruity flavor that works so well with these meatballs. Pork is commonly served with apple flavorings or sauces: The robust meat holds up well to the fruity and sometimes tart taste of apple. And, additions like minced garlic and italian seasoning in the meatballs ensure the delicious savory flavor is strong from the inside-out.

These apple BBQ pork meatballs can be served as an appetizer or side dish: You could even shape them a little bit smaller and serve the meatballs on toothpicks or little forks for a dinner party-style appetizer! The apple BBQ sauce becomes a smooth glaze that is nicely thick, sweet, savory, and tastes like classic BBQ. Leftovers of these meatballs keep well and can be used in sandwiches or even eaten cold straight from the fridge!

Ingredients
1 lb ground pork
1 egg, beaten
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 tsp italian seasoning
1 tbsp minced garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
¾ cup Apple Orchard BBQ Sauce
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit.
In a large bowl, add the ground pork, egg, breadcrumbs, italian seasoning, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine the mixture.
Roll into golf ball-sized balls and place in a small baking dish. Transfer to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until completely cooked through and the internal temperature of the pork reads 145 degrees fahrenheit.
Heat a medium skillet over medium heat. Place the meatballs in the skillet and pour the Apple Orchard BBQ Sauce over the meatballs. Bring to a simmer and let simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring the sauce and rotating the meatballs to coat them. Remove from the skillet and enjoy immediately.
