Butcher BBQ’s Coffee Rub is all you need for this simple grilled skirt steak. The rub is a perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors with just a little salt and heat. The ground coffee brings an earthy taste that’s nicely balanced and pairs perfectly with red meat like this skirt steak. The coffee rub is quite all purpose though and can be used on any type of meat or other dish. For example, it would go great in a big batch of chili or baked beans!

This coffee-rubbed skirt steak is as easy to prepare as drizzling oil and sprinkling the rub right on top of the steak. Then, be sure to rub it in all over and evenly coat all sides of the meat. While it’s recommended to allow it to sit and marinade, you can also throw it on the grill immediately if short on time. Then those charred, crispy edges develop when browning the steak on the hot grill. It’s bound to be the main character of any complete meal!
Ingredients
1 lb skirt steak, cut into manageable pieces if needed
½ tbsp avocado or olive oil
2 tbsp Coffee Rub

Directions
Place skirt steak in a shallow bowl and drizzle with oil. Sprinkle Coffee Rub over the steak, then use your hands to rub it in on both sides.Let sit at room temperature for at least 15 minutes to marinate. Meanwhile, preheat the grill to high heat, approximately 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
When the grill is hot, set steaks on the grill and cook 3-4 minutes each side, depending on the thickness of the steak and your preference for doneness.
Remove the steaks from the grill and let sit for at least 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
